20 THINGS I LEARNED IN 20 YEARS

Well, I'M 20! I think that is so crazy! Like, I have been alive for 2 decades! But I was roaming Pinterest the other day as always and I saw picture that said 20 things I learned in 20 years! I didn't click on it because I didn't want any one else ideas in my post, but I thought that it was such a fun blog post idea! I have learned lots of life lessons, but it is so hard to think of them now that I think about it!

1: FAMILY IS EVERYTHING
Really as a teenager I thought that my friends were everything. I would go out every weekend, and would never be home except for in the mornings. I never really spent time with my family, and I am sure that every kid is like this, but that is one thing I wish I would have done differently.

2: KEEPING YOUR ROOM CLEAN IS IMPORTANT
You know how your parents always make you clean your room, well do it! everyday! I was really bad at keeping my room clean and my dad would always clean it and send me pictures of it while I was at school telling me that I owed him. Ha, but now that I am moved out and have my own place, I am the worst at keeping it clean! Keeping a clean room is a skill, and it really will help you in the long run!

3: MOM IS ALWAYS RIGHT
Mom is always right and that is that. There are no if, ands, or buts.

4: YOUR DAD WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR FIRST LOVE
No matter who you are and how old you are, your dad was and will ways be your first love!

5: WEARING YOUR SEAT BELT IS IMPORTANT
I have always been good at wearing my seatbelt, but the one time I wasn't we were hit by a semi! So ALWAYS no matter how cool you are, wear one.

6: EVEN ON YOUR HARDEST DAYS, STILL SMILE
Everyone has had or will have a hard day. The day where you don't want to get up, don't want to see anyone, or in some cases don't even want to be alive. I have already experienced that kind of day, and I'm positive it isn't going to be the last. But just remember to hang in there, and don't give up! So even on your hardest day, find some reason to smile! It might be hard, but it will be worth it!

7: IT IS OKAY TO FAIL
I have failed lots of times in many different things. But one thing I taught myself way back when was when I fall 12 times, I get up 13. There are going to be days where you are disappointed, whether in yourself or in other people, but just remember no one is perfect and neither are you!

8. LOOK PEOPLE IN THE EYE WHEN TALKING
Just today at work some lady told me it was so nice to talk to someone face to face and look into their eyes! Yeah it might be awkward at first, but just make sure your eyes are smiling and everything will go good!

9: SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO SAY NO AND THAT'S OKAY
I do this all the time, when I really just want to netflix and chill. And I'm not kidding! There is so much peer pressure these days. There are those times where you have to stand up for yourself and say no to things! One day I was with a friend and we met up with some other kids that were just not very nice, so when my friend decided we were going to go do something I decided to say no and go home! And thats okay, you should never be embarrassed about it.

10: SHOW RESPECT
I cannot tell you how important this is! Show respect to anyone and everyone. No matter who it is.

11: BE KIND
Be king to everyone! No one deserves to be treated different! You might just make someones day!

12: LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
Even if it is just the little old lady unloading her groceries, offer to help! In relief society one day, someone made a comment that stuck out to me! They said even when someone else is offering to help you out let them! This is so true because sometimes that person needs it more than you do!

13: LET THINGS GO
Holding grudges does no one good. So let it go or make up. Once you do, you will feel so much relief! It isn't worth carrying it around with you.

14: PEOPLE LEAVE FOR A REASON, BUT DON'T LET IT RUIN YOU
There are always going to be friends who leave, or loved ones die. And I'm not going to lie, it is going to be hard, and it will take a long time to come to terms. Don't let their leaving drag you down. I know it might sound harsh, but it is more important to take care of you!

15: IT'S OKAY TO BREAKDOWN
I literally use to breakdown all the time, and there is no problem with it! Sometimes you just need to just let all the tears out! Whenever I cry, I end up crying about all my other problems that I have had since the last timed I cried! but whenever you are done crying, go get some food. It will help.

16: NEVER PEEL THE BOTTOM OF YOUR BURRITO OFF
No joke, I did this today! We went to Betos for lunch and There was a little extra tortilla on my Carne Asada. So I thought it was a bright idea to peel it off, but it ripped off to much and all the stuff in my burrito started to fall out. Don't ever fall for it.

17: APPRECIATE THE LITTLE THINGS
I had a brain fart and couldn't thing of anything else, but my brother said something along the lines of appreciate the little things. and that is so important! All the time we look for the bigger picture, it is really the smallest moments that matter!

18: DON'T BE QUICK TO JUDGE
So many times I found myself judging other people by what they were wearing, what they look like, and how they act. But once I got to know them my opinion of them changed! Long story short: Give everyone a chance.

19: GROWING UP IS HARD
I was so excited to grow up, and now it is here and it is hard. I seriously can't make phone calls still, I can't go to the doctors by myself, I seriously can't leave the house without getting nervous! So if you are the kinda of kid wishing your were adult, don't wish it away to fast!

20: SHARE YOUR VOICE!
The whole meaning behind by blog "Quiet People Have the Loudest Minds" is not being shy or timid and letting your feelings out! I am a pretty quiet person, until you get to know me! I actually feel like I am pretty sassy, sometimes salty, and a lot of people don't know that! My blog is a way for my introverted self to express my feelings and thoughts!
